NFMT Conference & Exposition Addresses the Importance of Proper Grounding, Bonding and Wiring to Alleviate Power Problems

NEW YORK, NY— To ensure a relatively smooth operation in mission-critical facilities, exceeding the minimal requirements of the National Electrical Code is essential. David Brender, the national program manager for electrical applications at the Copper Development Association (CDA), will be presenting at the 2017 Building Operating Management’s NFMT Conference & Exhibition about cost-efficient improvements in bonding, grounding and wiring that will prevent catastrophic events from occurring.

“I have come across too many instances when an individual’s life was put at risk because of a flaw in the electrical systems,” Brender said. “The Codes are fine standards to go by; however there are limitations.”

In this fifty-minute presentation scheduled for March 8, Brender will educate attendees on maintenance decisions and the basic elements of a good electrical design. He will also examine case histories and discuss recommended practices for facility professionals.

The NFMT Conference & Exhibition is the largest free conference and product expo for facilities professionals. The event offers 125 sessions of operational strategies, techniques and innovative solutions for professionals in the facilities management and technology industries. The event is taking place March 7-9, 2017 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Brender is a licensed professional engineer who provides expertise on grounding and bonding by giving presentations for CDA for more than 20 years. Brender is also a principal member of Panel 5 of the National Electrical Code, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a life member of the Association of Energy Engineers.

CDA offers seminars on grounding and other topics to electrical groups, most at no charge. For more information about copper grounding systems or to access a variety of CDA’s electrical case studies, please visit the electrical section of copper.org.
