Target Organisms

A wide range of microorganisms can be found in indoor air, including bacteria, yeasts, fungal spores, moss and fern spores, algae, pollen, and protozoa. However, the principal microbes of health significance in indoor air are fungal spores and bacteria. The microorganisms under investigation in the Copper Air Quality Program include Serratia marcescensStaphylococcus aureus (ATCC) and avirulent strain of Cladosporium species.
