Eject Finished Rotor: Handling Methods

The weight of a cast copper rotor will be somewhat heavier than its aluminum counterpart. The data in Figure 12.1.1 show estimates of the weight of the lamination stack, steel arbor, copper end rings and conductor bars, runner and biscuit for different motors sizes that would need to extracted from the casting die. A robot or some other mechanical device will be required for all but the smallest rotors.
