Have a Good Power Quality Story To Tell?
Engineers, Building Operators, Electrical Contractors, Plant Operations Personnel!
CDA is interested in developing and publicizing case histories of your experiences in designing for power quality considerations in new construction, or solving a power quality problem in an existing facility. These case histories may be used in printed flyers, slide talks, possibly advertising, and posting here on the Copper Page. The free national publicity will help identify you and your firm as premier designers and innovators in quality building considerations. CDA will perform all photography, interviewing and writing, subject to your approval.
Further, you will be helping to educated the design community through example, and if they desire, bring recognition to your client. (The stories can be written generically if the client does not wish to be identified.)
The more specific the details, the more interesting and believable the story will be. We are especially looking for cases where the use enhanced building infrastructure is being designed or installed in accordance with current recommended practice, such as:
- Separate circuits, feeders, or panels for sensitive loads
- Allowing fewer outlets per circuit
- Enhanced grounding systems, including buried ground rings or multiple ground rods
- Oversized or separate neutrals
- Specifying a separate grounding conductor or isolated ground
- Use of K-rated transformers for sensitive loads
- Copper lightning protection systems
- etc.
The cases may involve brand new construction, or retrofit of existing structures. Types of structures include communication or broadcasting facilities, commercial buildings of every sort, industrial plants, institutions, hospitals, and schools.
The audience will want to know the how and why of the design or specifying decision, how much was or is being saved on reduced downtime or data losses, maintenance experiences, equipment reliability and lifespan, etc. The sites can be anywhere in the USA or Canada. Experiences with electronics vs. magnetic ballasts can be included.
